Dear students, parents and teachers,
Our school received a letter from NSW department of Education,
to inform state wide community schools to pause face to face classes
and turn to online classes from 31 Aug. 2020 to the end of term
3 until further notice to be served. This notice makes us very
upset because we just re-started face to face classes in 6 weeks
but have to stop again, it makes our students, parents and teachers
inconvenient, we are so sorry but we have to obey DET’s
instruction and believe it is for public benefit. We attach the
DET’s letter as the following.
We authorize our teachers to count how many students can join
online class, and then inform you class arrangement. We hope parents’
support. The students who are not able to join online class, their
credit will be kept for future class. Your understanding is greatly
appreciated.
Wish you healthy and happy.

Dear community languages schools and host schools
A message from Lynne Irvine, Executive Director, School Operations
and Strategic Partnerships:
The Department of Education has been, and continues to be, in
regular contact with NSW Health to seek advice about the ongoing
support for schools to ensure that they remain safe for students
and staff. The Department updates its advice to schools regularly
with regard to any restrictions that need to be placed on the
day-to-day activities in schools based on the information provided
by NSW Health.
In response to the latest advice from NSW Health, the Community
Languages Schools Program will need to implement new measures
to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission for students and
staff across all host sites. Advice from NSW Health is that students
are not to travel outside of their local community area and we
are not to mix students from many schools and local areas onto
public schools sites.
We thank you for the work you do for the students in our Community
Languages Schools and appreciate that this is a very difficult
time for us all.
These measures will be in effect from Monday 31 August 2020 for
the remainder of Term 3.
• All Community Languages classes must be delivered online
until the end of Term 3
• Community Language classes are not to be run in host schools
• Support will be provided by the Community Languages Schools
Program and the Program Education Officers.
• It is expected that the Community Use Agreements held
with public schools will be re-activated when these current restrictions
are lifted.
These safety measures are designed to keep everyone well and to
minimise the spread of COVID-19 across communities.
Thank you for your understanding and for your ongoing support
of the Community Languages Schools Program.
Kind regards, Nina and Merryl
